An exceptional opportunity exists for a Pastry Chef to join the pre-opening team of a new, upmarket restaurant situated on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. This role is ideal for an individual with a profound passion for the Arts of Pastry and Baking.
Our client is an acclaimed, award-winning Chef renowned for their innovative approach to seasonal, contemporary South African cuisine.
As a Pastry Chef, you will be required to plan production, develop season offerings, recipe engineering, stock control and waste management.
Qualification & Skills
- Formal Culinary Education: A degree or certificate in culinary arts, with a specialisation in Pastry.
- Experience: Significant experience in the pastry section.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in baking techniques, recipe development, and pastry decoration.
- Creativity and Innovation: The ability to create unique and appealing desserts and pastries.
- Organisational and Time Management Skills, essential.
- Effective teamwork and Communication Skills.
- Attention to Detail: Precise measurements, consistent quality, and careful presentation are crucial.
- Excellent Knowledge of Sanitation and Safety Regulations; ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Candidates, who are already residing in the local vicinity of the Winelands will have preference.
