An exceptional opportunity exists for a talented HEAD CHEF to lead the kitchen operations of a popular breakfast and lunch restaurant, situated on the slopes of Simonsberg mountains.  The eatery is known for their Mexican and South American-style menu, where one can enjoy a relaxed and curated dining experience.  

Ideal Candidate:

We seek a talented Head Chef with a passion for Mexican and South American-inspired cuisine, a true leader who can oversee and manage the kitchen operations, ensure discipline and able to develop and motivate a small but passionate team. Baking, retail and Latin-style cooking experience highly beneficial.  

Restaurant trading hours:  Wednesday – Sunday: 08:00 – 17:30.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall kitchen management
• Inventory control and supplier liaison
• Lead and Manage a small team of chefs effectively
• Ensure the food served meets the expected standards, maintaining the reputation of our esteemed client.
• Ensure menus are seasonal, fresh, and organic as per our Client’s vision/standards.
• Lead, train, and develop a skilled and motivated kitchen team.
• Ensure all kitchen staff follow hygiene and food safety protocols as per HACCP and local health regulations.

Inherent Requirements & Experience:

• Formal Culinary Qualification Beneficial
• Proven experience as Head Chef or Snr Sous Chef
• Strong knowledge of kitchen management, and inventory control.
• Computer literate
• Leadership and team management skills

Candidates, who are already residing in the Winelands Region will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence!
