Situated in the picturesque Stellenbosch, our client holds a distinguished place as a historical landmark in the renowned Winelands region. We are currently seeking an accomplished Senior Sous Chef to join our client’s culinary team.

The ideal candidate for this pivotal position will possess a robust skill set encompassing management, administration, and operational expertise, coupled with an unwavering passion for culinary excellence and staff development.

Core Requirements

Previous experience in effectively managing and leading a bustling five-star hotel kitchen operation is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, exceptional leadership abilities, stability, and the capacity to thrive under pressure. Formal culinary education, reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license are indispensable prerequisites.

Core Responsibilities

In this crucial role, you will provide invaluable support to the Executive Chef in managing and directing all aspects of kitchen operations and personnel. Your responsibilities will include assisting in menu planning, meticulously costing recipes, and ensuring efficient food consumption. Furthermore, you will be entrusted with maintaining stringent stock controls, effectively managing stock movement and rotation, and fostering productive supplier relationships. Demonstrating exceptional proficiency in controlling food costs, minimizing wastage, and optimizing kitchen preparation processes will be paramount. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in staff development, ensuring effective training and fostering a positive work environment.
