Our client, a Luxury Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek, is seeking to employ a seasoned NIGHT AUDITOR to join their team.
The successful candidate will have to excel in providing service excellence and ensuring that the guest experience is prioritised above all else. As the primary point of contact for guests during the night shift, the Night Auditor handles inquiries, resolves issues, and ensures seamless communication between departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees, coordinates and directs the service, operations, logistics and activities of the Front Office and other operational departments during their allocated night shift.
- Responds to the requests that are presented by guests during the night operating hours and works closely with the relevant department night team to assist the department managers to ensure a coordinated effort between the different teams.
- Ensures that the Night Audit and reporting is accurately completed and all departments are balanced and that department “End-of-Day” procedures are correctly run.
- Ensuring that all guests’ special requests, requirements are met by all departments and communicated clearly.
- Upselling of the property’s facilities and services including their affiliates.
- Adhere to and maintain Health and Safety standards
Experience and Skill
- Experience in a 5 star luxury hotel environment
- Excellent knowledge of Franschhoek area and surrounds
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all guests
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage, general knowledge about news and current affairs
- Excellent track record in housekeeping, food and beverage, as well as butler duties
- Ability to be always courteous, calm under pressure and putting guests first
- Computer literate in Microsoft office and Protel.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage and maintain all areas relating to engineering & maintenance, so as to ensure effective hotel operational requirements
- Plan, supervise and conduct the maintenance and service schedules of relevant hotel equipment and fleet of vehicles within the group
- Work closely with the relevant Hotel Managers, Group Operational Manager and Heads of Departments to ensure all maintenance requests are resolved in a timely fashion, with excellent record-keeping and efficient feedback
- Implement the preventative maintenance program, which ensures compliance with all relevant warrantees, safety legislation and maintenance best practice
- Oversee and manage engineering projects the group plans to undertake
- Ensure the secure and safe usage of all equipment items
- Manage, train, guide and develop the staff in their required skills
- Ensure that malfunctioning equipment is repaired and brought back online in the minimum down-time
- Maintain a thorough stock level of frequently used equipment, supplies and relevant items
- Maintain inspection, stock control and purchasing records
- Obtain best price quotes from reliable suppliers and build a base of approved service providers
- Preparing annual Maintenance budgets, including any purchasing for machinery or other CAPEX items, maintaining existing materials and machinery, and labour
- Ensure, enforce and maintain Health and Safety standards
Inherent Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within Hospitality.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work shifts and be flexible in other departments
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to anticipate guests needs and exceed guests’ expectations
- Enthusiastic and passionate about guests, their needs and preferences
- Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas
