Overview

This Five-Star Boutique Hotel is situated at the seafront in Ballito, on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal. A picturesque holiday spot with an infinity pool perched above the sea, and private access to a tidal pool and a beautiful swimming beach. The stylish main house offers accommodation in four guest rooms and three suites and also a self-contained, three-bedroom villa with its own pool, living area and kitchen. The restaurant is open for all-day dining as well as dinner. Highly trained and intuitive spa therapists treat guests on site to a journey of wellness and pampering.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our client’s dynamic team. 

Key Function

  • Supports the General Manager by supervising the work of all the hotel departments, to ensure that the hotel operation runs according the plans and purposes set out by the hotel leadership team, as is befitting a 5 star hotel. Ensuring that all team members and teams continuously develop and display the level of competence, professionalism, excellence, protocol and etiquette that is expected at a Luxury 5 Star hotel.
  • The role implements and monitors the systems and conditions that enable the departmental
  • operations to provide guests with outstanding hospitality services that are of exceptional quality, that service needs are adequately anticipated and that the departments are fully responsive to individual guest needs. The Assistant Hotel Manager works to ensure that the desired standards documented for all departments, are implemented correctly and consistently.
  • The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in implementing the daily organisation plans for the departmental operations.

Key Position Requirements

  • Diploma in Hotel Management required or related tertiary qualification 
  • Minimum of 2 year’ experience in a luxury hotel manager role
  • A strong and empathetic leader who can communicate effectively with guests, associates and owners
  • Ability to lead the Operational small teams 
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, Opera, ESS, HRPM
  • Emotionally stable, even tempered, calm
