Our client, a Sophisticated Restaurant, situated on a Stellenbosch Wine Estate, is looking to employ an experienced SOUS CHEF to join their team. 

The ideal individual for the SOUS CHEF position is someone with a strong operational and culinary skill set, with a love for food and staff development, previous experience in running and managing a diverse and busy kitchen operation, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure. A formal Culinary education and own reliable transport and valid driver’s licence is essential. 

In the  SOUS CHEF role you would be expected to assist with managing and directing the kitchen operations and staff, assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison, excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation, staff development and disciplining, setting up and managing SOP’s, ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.

Remuneration Details

R18 000 Negotiable – Based on experience

Candidates, who are already residing in the Western Cape will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence!
