Overview
We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join one of the most innovative catering companies in the Winelands. Our client offers personalised menus for any size event and take extreme measures in service and quality.
We are looking for an experienced SOUS CHEF with sound knowledge of using state of the art cooking techniques, a strong catering and culinary background, excellent knowledge of catering operations, and ability to lead and manage the preparation and execution of high quality menus. Someone that is forward thinking, resourceful with a stable track record.
It is a pre-requisite to have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport. Applicants residing the Winelands region will receive preference.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- A diploma in professional cookery
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
- Stable track record
- Excellent record of kitchen management
- Excellent time management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
- Capable of delegating multiple tasks and provide excellent support
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Computer literate
Key Responsibilities
- Able to assist in planning, direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the guests
- Exceptional leadership skills to manage and lead a team effectively
- Hands-on approach to all catering activities and events
- Responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
- Responsible for maintaining all catering equipment
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and guests
- Manage inventory and supplies
Remuneration
R15 000 – R19 000 CTC (Depending on Experience)

Candidates, who are already residing in the Winelands Region will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence! No Work Permit applications will be accepted! Applicants, who live in other provinces of South Africa still need to attend personal interviews and if requested to do any cook-offs, will do so completely at their own expense.
