Overview
Our client, a well-known and established Wine Estate located in the Franschhoek region, has a vacant position for an experienced SOUS CHEF.
The ideal individual is someone with a strong culinary skill set, with a love for food, previous experience in running and managing a busy kitchen operation, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure.
Minimum Requirements and Key Responsibilities
- A formal Culinary Education
- Minimum of 3 -5 years Sous Chef experience
- Assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison
- Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
- Ongoing staff training and development
- Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport

Candidates, who are already residing in the Winelands will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence! No Work Permit applications will be accepted! Applicants, who live in other provinces of South Africa still need to attend personal interviews and if requested to do any cook-offs, will do so completely at their own expense.
