We are seeing an accomplished Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of an intimate, award winning hotel, based in Mkuze – Northern KZN.

This esteemed hotel offers 74 guest rooms including three spacious Suites and Junior Suite with indoor function space that combines the stylish comfort of Zululand’s Finest Country Inn.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven maintenance management experience in a 4* or 5* establishment
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to perform various repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook for managing schedules, budgets, and communication
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of all maintenance activities across the hotel, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and to the highest standards. 
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas requiring repair or enhancement within the hotel facilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work
  • Promptly address guest requests for maintenance, ensuring 100% guest satisfaction
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong equipment and facility lifespan
  • Manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory, maintaining adequate stock levels
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules and records using Microsoft Excel
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects 
  • Being able to work with the Project Manager for the properties on new projects and repairs
  • Monitor maintenance expenses, adhering to budgetary constraints
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures during maintenance activities
  • Mentor maintenance staff to enhance skills and performance
  • Manage administrative tasks such as email correspondence, and staff scheduling

Remuneration Details

  • This is a Live-in position
  • Competitive salary ranging from R15 000 – R19 000, along with on-site accommodation.
