Overview

We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join the IT team working at a luxury hospitality portfolio in Franschhoek.

The ideal candidate will be a professional person, capable of working in a 5-star hospitality environment as part of a small team, interacting with staff, suppliers and occasionally hotel guests. The IT System Administrator will also be prepared to be on standby over some weekends to resolve any guest-facing issues as and when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree Information Systems or equivalent
  • System Administration/ Engineer certification in Microsoft (eg. MCSA, MCSE, A+)

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage and monitor IT systems and infrastructure
  • Support LAN’s, WAN’s, Network segments, Internet and intranet systems,
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users,
  • Maintain network and system security,
  • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as driver and settings of personal computers as well as printers,
  • Maintain backup of the servers data, network devices data and test data restoration process,
  • Manage CCTV devices, servers, storage,
  • Perform regular system checks, verifying the integrity and availability of backups, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs,
  • Liaise and work with guests, staff, vendors and IT personnel as and when required,
  • Be on standby when required after hours and at weekends to support guest facing systems.

Position Requirements and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years system management experience
  • Experience with virtualisation (e.g. VMware, HyperV)
  • Experience on switches for VLAN, tagging, stacking
  • Experience with Domain controller, group policy DHCP etc (e.g. Server 2012 & 2016, Window 10)
  • Mitel PABX and Phones
  • Experience in Firewall Management
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environment for desktops and server
  • Experience in monitoring systems and maintaining a high security level.
  • Experience working with smart TVs and smartphones
  • Valid driver’s license for driving in South Africa as well as own transport is essential
  • Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and surrounding areas
