The stylish main house offers accommodation in four guest rooms and three suites and also a self-contained, three-bedroom villa with its own pool, living area and kitchen. The restaurant is open for all-day dining as well as dinner. Highly trained and intuitive spa therapists treat guests on site to a journey of wellness and pampering.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled duty manager with enriched skills in employee management. The ideal fit for the role will have a wealth of experience in supervising team members and setting goals and targets for their team. 

The focus of the role is to supervise the staff on the floor, addressing and de-escalating any issues that arise during working hours, ensuring productivity, and developing management reports. 

Position Requirements

  • Diploma in Hotel Management required or related tertiary qualification 
  • 3+ Years experience in a supervisory-level or Management role
  • 5 Years’ experience in the guest service industry
  • Strong leadership skills 
  • Detail-focused, with strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills (Zulu speaking / understanding is an advantage)
  • Ability to write daily reports
  • Physically able to lift 10kg
  • Understanding of health and safety in the workplace 
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • A strong and empathetic leader who can communicate effectively with guests associates and owners
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Micros, Opera)
  • Live in Position- No

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team on the hotel floor and set out any duties or specific tasks to be completed during the shift
  • Hold team meetings to discuss the shift’s requirements and expectations
  • Ensure that team members are completing their duties to a high standard and being productive during their working hours. Manage the staff schedule, always ensuring sufficient cover
  • Assist team members time off by discussing with the hotel manager before approving, ensuring adequate cover remains
  • Assist team members with any problems or difficulties they may have, including conflict between team members
  • Complete reviews for new staff
  • Assist the accounting department when preparing payroll
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service for customers
  • Consult with hotel manager for any training needed for staff
  • Always follow health and safety guidelines
  • Prepare management reports pertaining to budgets and or productivity and performance

  • Competitive basic salary ranging from R10 000 to R12 000 per month, based on experience and qualifications
