Overview

We have a unique opportunity for a Seasoned Group Food Menu Development Chef at a modern 250-seater, all-day eatery and wine bar, nestled in the heart of Rosebank’s thriving foodie district. 

We are looking for an experienced Menu Development Chef, with exceptional knowledge and experience in innovative menu development based on global, modern cuisine, recipe design and costing. 

The perfect individual is someone with a strong work ethic, exceptional culinary skills, with a love for food, experience gained in high-end restaurants, quality driven, a strong and stable leader. The position will manage the Restaurant Group’s Head Chefs and will focus on ongoing staff training and development.

The key role is to develop ideas from concept to production, Work closely with the owners, food production / operational management, Staying ahead of culinary trends

Key Position Requirements

  • A formal Culinary Education 
  • Minimum of 5 years‘ experience as a Head Chef / Development Chef 
  • International work experience beneficial 
  • Strong financial / business acumen
  • Innovative menu engineering, recipe design and costing 
  • Ingredient sourcing, supplier liaison
  • Strong ability to develop a team
  • Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety 
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport essential

Remuneration

R60 000 CTC (Neg)
