Overview

This 5-Star property is situated in the heart of Franschhoek and offers dynamic career opportunities to positive, vibrant and energetic individuals. Seeking an experienced Front Office Reception / Guest Assistant to join their team.
You will excel in this role if you are presentable, professional and highly guest and service orientated with excellent guest relation skills, willingness to go the extra mile with the aim to exceed guests’ expectations.

Position Requirements and Experience

  • Grade 12 – Matric Certificate
  • Tertiary Qualification in Hospitality / Hotel Management would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Front Office operations of a Luxury Hotel
  • Proficient in use of various well-known Property Management systems
  • Certificate in First Aid/Fire Fighting/Health and Safety, would be advantageous
  • Ability to work shifts including night shift
  • Valid driver’s license would be advantageous
  • COVID – 19 vaccination mandatory
  • Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas

  • Conversant with specialist terminology including F&B service, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Wardrobe, Security and Operational Finance
  • Display a sense of urgency and dedication to meeting the needs and wishes of others
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must be professional and a team player
  • Sustainable quality and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a seamless guest experience through the related processes and procedures including guest’s arrival and check-in, guest relations and interactions, departure, check-out and billing 
  • Concierge services (Booking of restaurants, transport, etc.) 
  • Recommendations, upselling and cross selling including partner experiences 
  • Positive interdepartmental and colleague communication 
  • Monitor O status and management accounts 
  • Guest feedback reporting (Revinate, TripAdvisor, E-mails, etc.) 
  • Follow and enforce all Health and Safety processes and procedures whilst maintaining the privacy of all guests
