Our client, a well-known and respected Manufacturer in Stellenbosch, is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to optimise the available resources to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and quality of execution. The Manufactory includes a small cafe, experimental kitchen, bakery and patisserie

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Optimization of:
– Stock (Frozen & Fresh)

* Understand Stock levels in DC’s and current sales trends
* Have an updated and documented account of all in-house stock produced
* Waste management and documentation
* To ensure that all stock produced is managed to the right allocation and all accounted for
* On time deliveries & communication – ensure safe paper trail
* Manage Quality control systems as to what can and cannot be sent out – ensure paper trail and communication *Frozen stock management and administration with Euroberry for: Checkers * Kauai * Foodservices * Engen

– Drivers
*Driver routes and shifts * Vehicles (servicing & licensing)

– Production Team
* Assist in Staff scheduling and optimisation of staff along with Heads of departments: (Kitchen ▪ Pastry ▪ Bakery ▪ Pasteis ▪ Packers) * Manage overtime

– Holding Freezer
* Stock management (ensure order quantities are met and stock is rotated) * Packaging area * Packaging material * Packaging- & Deep Cleaning staff management * Equipment Maintenance

– General Maintenance
* All Manufactory Equipment maintenance plan, schedule and history  * General Upkeep

– HACCP standard execution
* In collaboration with Quality Controller ensure that standards are met and executed

– Pasteis de Nata production management  * Staff management * Ingredients * Training * Efficiency * Quality * Equipment

– Exterior of building
*  Rubbish removal * Assist in Pest Control * General Upkeep and Maintenance * Security

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma in Production and or Manufactory Management and Business Accounting or related qualification

At least 5 years’ relevant experience

Experience in Logistics will be advantageous

Skills Required

Specific Skills:

  • Computer literate Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word able to do basics
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills required both verbally and in writing towards clientsand management
  • Deadline driven
  • Sound administrative knowledge / experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail

General Skills:


  • Ability to effectively write routine reports & correspondence
  • Ability to effectively speak before groups of customers or employees of the organisation
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume


  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of internet, spreadsheet and Word Processing software
