Overview

Our distinguished client is perfectly located on the Durbanville Hills and has become a firm destination venue choice for weddings, corporate functions and other bespoke events. 

We have exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Venue Manager to join their team. 

We are looking for an individual with a Qualification in Events Management; Hospitality or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in the events or hospitality industry relating to specifically weddings, corporate functions, and conferences.

Previous management experience essential with excellent interpersonal, administrative, planning and organisational abilities, high level of creativity and an eye for detail with exceptional project management skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative software.

Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Event Management; Hospitality or related field essential
  • Minimum of 1 year Management experience required 

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of the events and hospitality industry is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative software (e.g., Xero, iOS systems)
  • A minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in the events or hospitality industry preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating event bookings by liaising with Project Managers and clients to finalise requirements
  • Support the execution of high-quality client service and operational standards
  • Ensure the venue, accommodation and facilities are clean, organized, and event-ready
  • Work closely with the Owners to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Handle on-the-day staff management for events, including after-hours and weekends
  • Assist with scheduling staff and ensuring adequate coverage for events
  • Manage venue site visits and assist in building client relationships
  • Oversee logistics and ensure vendor requirements are met
  • Communicate and enforce all venue regulations and protocols
  • Maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment, coordinating with vendors as needed
  • Generate operational reports and identify areas for improvement
  • Manage all telephonic and email event enquiries 
  • Give a personal touch to communication by reaching out to every enquiring couple over email as well as telephonically as required 
  • Liaise with clientele to ascertain the facilities and services they require 
  • Oversee client communications 
  • Develop and uphold a professional working relationship with all service providers 
  • Communicate with the in-house and outsourced staff compliment, so everyone is aware and updated as to the functions taking place monthly 
  • Report and rectify any quality variances in internal or external staffing 
  • Oversee the function calendar including provisional and confirmed functions 
  • Adhere to SOP documentation detailing service standards which clients and or service providers should adhere to
  • Oversee the venue management of weddings and events 
  • Overseeing the operations of the venue and accommodation
  • Managing employees
  • Managing bookings – for Venue and Accommodation
  • Handling complaints / feedback
  • Managing finances and monitoring budgets
  • Dealing with unforeseen issues
