Assistant Restaurant Manager (Franschhoek


Our client, an upmarket restaurant in Franschhoek, is looking to employ an enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager in developing and maintaining an exceptional level of service.  The ideal individual is highly customer and service -focused and has a good understanding of restaurant operations.  

This is an exciting career building opportunity for a young, energetic, self-motivated individual, who is detail orientated, calm and able to perform under pressure, to develop their skills in a well-controlled high-volume restaurant operation. 

pre-requisite is that the individuals resides in the Winelands area. 

Position Requirements

  • Previous experience as a floor manager / restaurant supervisor is essential  
  • Qualification in Hospitality / Restaurant Management will be advantageous
  • Own Transport
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Computer Literate
  • Fluent in written and spoken English 

Examples of Key Accountabilities

Customer Engagement: 

  • Manage reservations 
  • Offer an exceptional food and wine experience 
  • Ensure that waiters are knowledgeable and understand the food offering. 

Staff Management: 

  • Ensure staffs’ appearance adheres to company standards 
  • Ensure the look, feel and hygiene of the restaurant adheres to company standards 
  • Lead by example and in doing so, adheres to the company rules and regulations 
  • Communicates effectively 
  • Values and respects staff’s input 
  • Encourages and supports teamwork

Stock Control and Business Management: 

  • Accurate restaurant bar stock control 
  • Reconcile daily cash ups 
  • Process invoices 
  • Complete and maintain daily reports to management 

Remuneration Details

  • R15 000 – R20 000 Basic (Plus Gratuity Share)
