Our client is the winner of many accolades, a multiple awarded Five-Star Boutique Guesthouse, centrally located in beautiful Franschhoek. Pick Me Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Guesthouse Manager to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will maintain the meticulous high standards of service and tailored guest experiences. This position requires a guest centric and hands-on approach to service.
Essential Skills and Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Hospitality Diploma or Degree from a recognised institution
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s license beneficial
- Guest and service centric approach to daily operations
- A warm, inviting and outgoing personality with a natural service-oriented flair and must have a love for the hospitality industry
- Attention to detail, mature, sophisticated
- Excellent guest relations skills and an obsession with service
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be flexible
- Knowledge and interest in food and wine
- Must be able to plan and organise effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to communicate with international guests. Fluent in spoken and written English
- Excellent time management
- Fully computer literate, including cloud systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Nightsbridge front desk operating system
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service and Stays: Assists with the overall management of the daily House Operations and guest experiences, written and telephonic contact with guests, checking in and out of guests, updating and managing guest details and bills on the guesthouse system, action all traces and social profile requests, able to provide local knowledge on services and facilities, arrange guest itineraries during their stay, filling the role of manager on duty, manage guest communication.
Housekeeping and Maintenance: Oversee and manage the guest house upkeep and maintenance issues, daily room checks and all public areas, oversee the kitchen, bar and reception operations and guest house inventory control.
Breakfasts and Maintenance: Oversee and manage the breakfast service operations, guest liaison and staff management, assist where needed.
Attributes, experience and qualification: This position is ideal for an ambitious, self-starter person who wants to grow in the hospitality industry and “go the extra mile” in a dynamic company.
Remuneration
- Competitive basic salary (Dependant on qualification / experience)
- This is a long-term, live-out position and candidates should preferable live within a radius of a minimum 45-minute drive from Franschhoek

Candidates, who are already residing in the Cape Winelands Region will have preference. We can only consider South African Citizens or applicants who hold a valid South African Permanent Residence!
